"Random Capitalization" is the strange, ambiguous practice of "randomly" capitalizing the initials of all/some words in a headline that aren't "special" (a name or country, for instance).
I don't care what you may have learned; this is retarded beyond belief and is simply asking for confusion. Please study these examples carefully until you understand the point.
| Wrong | Right | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| China Hates Tibet Very Much | China hates Tibet very much | "China" and "Tibet" have upper-case initials because they are countries. |
| Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Selling Record Copies | Alice's Adventures in Wonderland selling record copies | The book's original title is preserved. |
| Help Me Fix My Broken Computer! :-( | Help me fix my broken computer! :-( | There is not a single word here that is "special". |
| Anyone Else Got The New Ipod? | Anyone else got the new iPod? | iPod is a trademark. Typing "Ipod" is just wrong. |
| Has Anyone Here Seen Toy Story Yet? | Has anyone here seen Toy Story yet? | "Toy Story" is a movie title. |
| Ipod Sure Is One Cool Gadget, Huh? | iPod sure is one cool gadget, huh? | Again, "iPod" is a trademark. Doesn't matter if it's the first word. |
If you have been brainwashed enough to find this attempt to stop you from using Random Capitalization silly/stupid, at least accept that this is how things are done around here. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do.", etc…
