Here's something I might give to someone who's new to producing, I have another one on seduction if anon is interested.
Equipment:
1. Get a good digicam/videocam. Please. (Sorry, just a nitpick of mine)
2. For videocams, get one of the new ones with flash cards if you can.
3. Never leave anything on the card for others to find.
4. Learn to reformat the card, format it after every session.
Filming tips:
1. Good light helps every scene. Put on as much light as possible.
2. We're not interested in seeing your hairy ass, so unless you're really sure we'll get a good view a side/top view is better.
3. Putting the camera down in a good position is often better be than holding it. You're naturally going to be in motion which makes it hard to film steady.
4. On videocams, don't forget you can flip the LCD so you see yourself.
Editing:
1. It's easier to not put on tape than edit something away
2. There are far more dangerous clues than the face
3. Sunglasses are a nice, cheap and good enough invention to avoid a lot of tedious editing
4. Avoid any personally identifying material, including but not limited to:
a. Letters
b. Local newspapers
c. ID cards
d. Phone numbers
e. Wall notes
f. Company t-shirts
g. School uniforms
h. Scout uniforms
i. Bookshelves w/local titles
j. General junk lying around since you're likely to miss something
k. Wall photos of yourself or your family
l. Outdoor shots (they reveal far more than you think)
NOTE: With all that said, feel free to dress up sexy and kinky, just make sure it's a mass market product you can buy almost everywhere. Lingerie, stockings, bsdm gear and or whatnot are all good examples. The answer isn't to be plain, it's just to not be personal.
5. Try to avoid giving any specific time or location:
a. Don't timestamp photos.
b. Get an EXIF remover (look it up).
c. Turn off the radio, put on a CD.
d. Turn off the TV, put on a DVD.
6. For editing, my recommended method is coarse pixelation. Do NOT use just any random effect. Alternately, a black box is easier but more disruptive.
7. Same goes for video, but basic cut and paste will get you far. Making a pixelated shot in a video editor is not trivial, but neither is creating a moving black mask. Basic steps are usually:
a. Import *two* copies of the video
b. Apply a pixelation effect to the "back" video.
c. Create the moving mask with a cut-out effect on the "front" video
d. The back video will show show through the "hole" you cut out for the desired effect. I can help with detailed guides if needed.
8. Depending on how strong the accent is, I hope you can leave the audio in but cut any names OUT. Don't count on saying it silently, you can amplify almost nothing into an audible name.
9. Try to find a modern codec to compress with, either xvid or x264 are my recommendations. I can help with more tools/guides here if needed.
Security:
1. Pick an artist name for the girl and stick with it. Don't tell anyone her real name.
2. Store everything on an encrypted container. Truecrypt is a great tool for every platform.
3. If you don't want it on the computer use a container on a memory stick
4. Copy everything directly to the encrypted stick. If they get copied automaticly to C:, use a wiping program to wipe them.
5. Review everything before you send it out with regards to the points above.
