Topic: Has anyone had any problems regarding copyright with gettyimages?

In short a friend of mine has been sent a letter from getty asking for about $1200 (no mention of court) for an image he used on a website, he removed it within 10 days, and yes he is a dumbass for not checking its copyright. Have any of you had to deal with a similar situation if so what did you do?

I hope he's not planning to pay. It's very similar to the RIAA: they hassle and threaten people, try to scare them into complying.
Just ignore the letter and it'll be fine.
