Topic: What is the best word processor for Mac OS X?

I need a free, preferably quick word processor for the Mac OS X platform. All ideas are welcome. I've used NeoOffice, but it seemed extremely slow to react to my typing. TextEdit (built-in to OS X) is great, but does not contain a lot of options for controlling the document. AbiWord doesn't run on Mac OS X.
