Now I am wondering, how would you torture a marder (I.E. Jesus, etc) when their main mission is too be a marder. Now let's pretend God is real and Jesus did have a mission. Let's say you were the Roman Emperor or whom ever is in charge. And that you some how knew of what Jesus was sent here to do. What would be a better form of torture for the marder then crucifixion or torture? Would you just let him live and not have him complete his mission?

First, you spelled it wrong, and it really looks strange. It's "martyr" not "marder." I think you would just lock him up and keep him in the prison. Prevent him from being martyr, if that was his real goal.

Assuming that there were really an omnipotent God, it'd probably be impossible to prevent him from carrying out his mission.

@55,078…seems sensible in the general case, however.

Wow, that's a neat theological test isn't it? Let's get some martyrs, and see if we can stop them. If we can keep them in jail till they die of natural causes, there is no God. If they manage to kill themselves despite our protective measures, then there is a God!

@55,093I think it would be pretty easy to prevent them from killing themselves.
Plus God hates martyrs because they are trying to be Jesus.

@55,093They aren't martyrs unless they're killed because of their religion. There would be no reason for them to kill themselves.
@55,090No. You're totally missing the meaning of omnipotent.

@55,378So the entire topic makes no sense because it's impossible to be a martyr, unless you're already dead. What about people who want to be martyrs, they want to be killed for their religion? Do we count suicide bombers as martyrs? They aren't killed by anyone but themselves, but most people still consider them martyrs.

@55,397You mean like Muslim terrorist? Well they are considered martyrs in their faith and treated as brave warriors/heroes. I guess that is another descriptions for the meme, "go a hero." But yes, I think they would be considered martyrs because they died in their own faith. Too bad they will be not getting their 72 virgins.
