The letters seemed to just disappear. I was going to select "delete" but accidentally pressed "archive". I looked through all the sections several times and they were all empty. What happened to those e-mail messages?

Well they're in the archive, duh. You can find them at 'search mail'.

They are archived. Look in the archive or search for them using the search bar.

@55,503What fucking "archive"? No such thing. And what exactly am I supposed to search for?

@55,530How is that "archive"? And no, they are not there. Fucking idiot. Pay attention.

@55,533> How is that "archive"? And no, they are not there. Fucking idiot. Pay attention.I'm jut fucking showing you a way to see your e-mails, 'cause you're too retarded for reading what GMail says about Archive:
> Archiving moves messages out of your inbox and into All Mail, letting you tidy up your inbox without deleting anything. Messages you archive can be found in All Mail, in any labels you've applied, and by searching Gmail. When someone responds to a message you've archived, the conversation containing that message will reappear in your inbox.[…]
To move mail back to your inbox:
Click All Mail.
Check the box next to the sender's name.
Click Move to Inbox.

@55,541Yeah…
I'm the retard for not knowing that "All Mail" is magically "archive" in Googlespeak. And they didn't end up there, as I already mentioned. But you seem to lack the ability to read.

@55,543No, I just presumed you didn't look at "All Mail" because you obviously don't see any relation between "All Mail" and archived messages.
Try to report the bug to GMail team (I don't know if they have an e-mail contact for bug report, but you could try enter your question at

3rd party Anon, not the poster of the above quoted:
No, you just didn't make the distinction between the NOUN "AN archive", and the VERB "TO archive".
When you click on "Archive" in Gmail, it, ahem, ARCHIVES (the action, i.e. the verb) the selected messages, getting them out of the way of your Inbox and into the *default* archive, which happens to be "All Mail".
Learn2Googlethink. :D
P.S. If you're *that* used to Netscape / Outglitch, you can make your own damn folder called "*Archive" and move shit there.
