I saw The AristoCats recently and the two movies really share many elements. Did anyone else notice this?

Well, they are both by Disney. Many, if not most, of Disney films share major elements. Many of them are simply "Disney-fied" versions of older fairy tales and things, also. Take the Lion King, for example. It's almost an exact knockoff of Kimba the White Lion (United States)/"Jungle Emperor" (Japan) which was a Japanese animated show from the 1960's, based on manga from the 1950's.
