Now why is it that whenever I watch a caveman/evolution special on Discover/History channel, it reminds me of the book of Genesis? Whenever I read the story on various Christian websites, why do I get the feeling as if something was missing at the beginning of the story or as if the story could be expanded with a prequel of the tribes on the Earth? Didn't Cain meet a girl named Asia from another tribe? Where the fuck did that other tribe come from and why did that just sound as if tribes of humanity were roaming the Earth just like they did in early human transformations? During hunter and gathering times?

Because it's a fictional mythological story written over 1500 years ago, with no relevance whatsoever to the scientific facts we know today?
Even though countless people will claim otherwise, I'm sure.

NO proof.

No proof for what? That the bible is over 1500 years old? That it was written by mortal men?
If you mean, no proof that we WEREN'T created by "God", then your logical flaw is that it is not necessary to disprove that which cannot be proven. Burden of proof lies with whomever makes a claim. I make no claims to know where we eventually came from or are eventually going. But I do claim that the factions mentioned above are indeed facts, unlike what is written IN the bible.

Where's your proof that it's a ficitional mythological story? A lot of the stuff written in the bible has actually happened. Like the great flood from Noah's Ark. It obviously wasn't a worldwide phenomenon but to the people back then, it sure must've seen like it. A lot of scientists belive that the black sea is the remains of that flood. I'm not saying that everything is true, but a lot of the stuff said has some true roots.

It is inherent to mythology to be BASED on true facts, then growing more elaborate into a branching story of fiction that has little or nothing to do with the original happenstance. Look at Greek mythology for example; enormously intricate and frought with details about the Gods' personal lives. Of course this wasn't meant to be taken entirely literally.
As for the flood: yes, there may at one point have been an enormous flooding that must've seemed global to whoever had the ill fortune to be alive in that area at the time. But such things alone are hardly proof for the more esoteric claims in the Bible, no?
If archeologists from the future would research our contemporary literature, they too would find an enormous amount of fiction based on facts, since it is the best kind. People crave two things; an explanation for something they cannot understand, and a good story. Combining those two led to religion.

I understand your points completely and agree. Although it annoys me when people say that these old texts are completely made up. IF you dig deep enough, you will find truth.

Hmm, perhaps my designation of "fiction" to the bible as a whole was a bit rash, indeed.
But it IS fiction to whomever uses the bible as "handbook" to live literally by in this day and age.
Small example: Jehova's Witnesses will deny themselves or family members a blood transfusion even if it is the only way to save a life, because "the bible tells us not to partake of blood". To them, "partake" includes intravenous injection. I'm sure that, at the time that text was written, the INTENT was to forbid people to simply slaughter each other like animals and drink the blood/eat the heart/whatever primitve tribes might have done to each other. I do not believe for a moment that God, knowing that there might be such a thing as a blood transfusion in 2000 years' time, had made them write that down so that WE TODAY could learn that it's evil and essentially forbidden.
As always, interpretation is key.

i believe in God and i believe in Bible, but i try to put things in a different light. The Bible says that world was created in 7 days. But does anyone say how long a day was?The human being was created in a day also, and yet archaeologists find humanoids spread over millions of years, so a day could have probably been 2-3 million years old. The Earth as a planet is dated to be formed 5 billion years ago.It doesn't look like a 24 hour day, am i right? If you blindly read something and take it mot-a-mot finally you'll be blindfolded that that thing that you read is true and nothing and no one can dispute it. So learn to try to understand things before pulling out conclusions.I am an orthodox Christian and is said that my religion is considered the most forbidding one, but i it fits me perfect.
