What kind of excercise could you do to stregnthen the muscles in your upper legs?

I find that when a straddle my partner and we go about it my upper legs become really sore and weak after only a little while and I can't hold myself up and end up having to stop and swap/change positions, which seems to disappoint my partner a little having to do all the work.

So I'm wondering what kind of excersises could you do to strenghthen the leg muscles?
Does anyone else have this problem?

I walk all the time at least an hour daily that only makes my lower leg muscles stronger

Cycle then. This will shift the pressure to your upper legs so you can focus on training those.

Squats and deadlifts should do the trick.

Basically a squat, but you hold the bar low with your arms extended rather than on your back or chest.
