Windows XP (SP3) keeps nagging me about two updates that are available, but when I select them to download and install, it simply says that they "cannot be installed". No reason for this is given. No hints whatsoever. Nothing. It just throws the problem at me. One of them is a security update for MSIE 7. I don't remember now what the other was, but it seems non-critical.

Why is this happening? Will the problem go away on its own if I wait? What if it doesn't?

The updates went fine on my XP, but now my startup is slow as fucking balls! I hate fucking Micro$oft!
