Topic: I, a non-American, watched the John McCain speeches today on TV…

It was scary. "Liberal" is apparently a cussword in the USA. The audience both looked and sounded dumb. Fucking sheep.

And no, I don't support Obama. I bet it's the same thing with his followers. Mindless masses who lack the ability to think on their own. I bet they would all start loving Windows Vista if their leader started expressing positive feelings for it…

Excuse me, but I think you mean Lieberal. :)

Seriously though, I too don't understand when having liberal views became a necessarily negative thing, but I'd imagine it has something to do our good friend President Bush.

Regardless of how angry watching the RNC coverage makes you feel, you'll feel worse when you realize that McCain has been getting more and more support in the past couple weeks. It's terrible, it's really terrible.

I live and work in Georgia and the dipshit rednecks here vote only for party loyalty. I was trying to keep an o[en mind about McCain but he really blew it with Palin. She is everything that I dislike about a woman.

Over the holiday weekend I spent some time with my girlfriend's family. I was talking politics with her grandmother and she'd said:

"I'm glad that McCain decided on a female vice-president. I've always wanted a woman in the White House."
"So if Obama had picked Hillary you'd have voted for him?"
"Well no, I only vote Republican."
"So McCain could have picked almost any woman to run and you'd have been satisfied?"
"Of course."

Face-fucking-palm

Lol, Home Depot would probably have record sales the next day.

I'm not too keen on either of the canidates. There's a nagging suspicion deep inside me that Barrack is some sort of backstabber who will set the country up purposely for failure. He seems a lot like Said from Oz.

Both the candidates suck, IMO. The whole party system sucks. If this country wasn't so full of idiots, I would vote independent, but nooooo: have to vote the party line or I might as well be burning my ballot. I'm real sick of the "least of two evils" thing.

The word "liberal" has been hijacked by the left, unfortunately. The true liberals in our country can be found in the Libertarian Party, Constitution Party, and about 1/3 of the Republican party. The Republican Party has been taken over recently by the Neocons.

The US system of "first past the post" voting encourages polarization and the kind of group think you'll find at the DNC and the RNC. The US is not alone in this. Better systems do exist, but no country has implemented them. Read "Gaming the Vote" for more info.

"Liberal" became a dirty word when it got hijacked by the Hard Left (Man-hating Feminazis, Communists, and fans of Jean Jacque Rousseau of all stripes). When the Left insisted that they were the only true "Liberals", then the rest of the USA let them keep the name and cursed them with it. The Hard Left is still around too, as Bill Ayers and his buddy Obama could tell you.
