For a while, when I was like 13, I actually thought that my CRT monitor had a built-in modem. The modem was actually as a PCI card in the midtower and I guess it sounded like it was in the monitor. This, of course, makes no sense for several reasons, including the fact that I had hooked everything up myself…
Why would I come to such an illogical conclusion? As if the monitor were some sort of Mac or something… I don't remember when I realized that this was crazy.
Also: What about you? Got any similar stories?

When I was really young and my mother was running late from work or grocery shopping (i'd stay home with my siblings and uncle), I would put my hand on the top of my old NES and say something along the lines of 'please use some of your power to bring my mom home safe'. I actually really thought that the console was magical and taht i was draining it's power so I seldom did so. I was convinced that it was true when my NES started busting up and i had to blow the games for like 25 minutes to get them to work. I thought that I took too much power from the console. I also used the 'power' for the last time when I was seven or so and saw a tornado warning on TV. It was in my same state (NJ) but very far away. I didn't know any better and used the power to stop it (or so I thought). :p seriously.

My mom made me believe 'till I was 7 that black people descend from monkeys and arn't fully developed mentally. This caused me ALOT of problems in elementary school.
