Now this is something that has really started to have me wondering, are there really people out there that want to become prostitutes? I mean do women really want to do this for a profession? Do men really want to do this for a profession? Anyways, I am wondering if AnonTalk could answer this question for me. Because I was always aware that prostitution was the ultimate disgrace.

Prostitution is the oldest profession on earth. And there is nothing wrong with it. If anyone wants to say otherwise then they need an argument that's a little more cohesive than BCUZ IT'S DIRTY AND RONG.

I think the profession kinda sucks all the same. Probably BECAUSE it's illegal around here. Hm. :| That and there enough jokes about prostitutes and AIDS to keep one amused for quite some time.

Oh, c'mon now. Do people ever really want to do a profession? I mean, really? They may have preferences, and some may enjoy their work to some extent - but suppose that these people (one way or another) were provided with the funds necessary to live their lives as they pleased without actually doing anything. How many of them would still go to work - and even if they did, would they view it more as a hobby, rather than a living?

No, nobody becomes a prostitute because they want to, but really, that goes for the grand majority of jobs in the world. Why single them out? It's just that prostitution has worse perks than most, because society frowns on it and prostitutes are generally looked down upon.

I've read and heard several accounts of young girls getting into prostitution after finding out they really liked sex, and didn't see a problem earning money doing something they loved.
Admittedly, I suppose these are exceptions rather than rules.
I bet there's also a goodly population of college-aged girls who start doing some johns just to cover, say, their tuition costs, but then realise that they are making more money NOW than they would working a job with a degree. So…
Anyways, if you REALLY REALLY hate sex and can't stand the thought of it, you will not become a prostitute unless forced by a pimp (or your own family if you live in a 3rd world country).
