I was told by somebody that Google wants to know everything you do on your computer with the new browser Google Chrome. This is the message I got from this person, is it true?
…
You never knew google tracks everything you do? Now they want to track what's on your pc.
I would use it
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?hl=en&continue=http://www.google.com/history/&nui=1&service=hist&srr=1http://howtosplitanatom.com/news/how-to-learn-why-google-tracks-you-2/http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/forums/general-chat/9012-stumble-upon-tracks-you-google-analytics.htmlThey own double click the worst adware site in the world. And used it against us xD
http://www.searchenginepromotionhelp.com/m/articles/site-content-design/google-tracks-users.phphttp://news.cnet.com/FTC-allows-Google-DoubleClick-merger-to-proceed/2100-1024_3-6223631.htmlhttp://www.crn.com/security/210500382Remember chrome wants to you everything you do on your pc. What files you open, what music you play, etc (that's why there's an ap thingy built intside chrome called google application launcher)
And if you go somewhere or something you shouldn't in your country you can be forced into jail like going to Retardchan and typing things you shouldn't be doing. Only way to stop google from tracking is using an extension called customizegoogle.com block the unique id and stuff. Or use tor network.
http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/08/how-to-stop-google-from-recording-your.htmlhttp://www.freenet.org.nz/misc/google-privacy.htmlAlso if a google bot indexes a site like ss it will know everything you typed by your ip, host, address.
lol have fun using chrome if you want it. To many bugs allready found. Google keeps your information for the rest of forever and anytime a fbi or gov agent wants to know who searched britney spears they will know everybody that did.
http://www.roughtype.com/archives/2007/05/driveby_malware.phpAlso if you did a murder etc the police can ask google and other search engines using your ip and what you searched for or search the kids name in the browser to see if that guy did something. This is how the police caught kids on msypace that did nasty stuff and fighting. Ya it was google tracking.

Their EULA practically demands that all content you send through their browser becomes their "property" to do what they want with it.
"Do no evil", yeah right google. I knew they'd fuck up eventually.

@57,840They took this out of their EULA shortly after the beta launch. They claimed it was their standard EULA for something else, and they did a sloppy copy-paste. That's what they claim, but who knows. Don't have the source on me, but sure you can google it.

I'm impartial with Google. I'm using Chrome right now. Yes, they invade my privacy constantly and are statistic whoring psychos. However, I haven't seen a case where anyone has used Google's data to incriminate someone. I'm not worried, therefore. Maybe I'm too trusting, but most things Google touch turn to gold, and I love them for that, at least.

@57,865I am scared to even think about downloading Chrome, should I still give it a try?

@57,866There's a million threads about this. Basically, if you are an avid support of complete privacy (which many members of this site are: thus the whole anonymous thing) then, I guess, don't take the risk. Personally: I love the browser, and I fully support being completely open with the world. I have my own website registered with my own home address on enom, I use my full name for online works, etc, etc. I only retain my anonaminity. when it benefits me, like at this site. I just don't care about the privacy issue, I guess. Plenty of people do, though. The only thing that bothers me about this is the fact that the data they have and do gather is very time-bomb like. Hopefully it will never be traded off to government organizations and the likes, but only time will tell. If I really want to look at sensitive data, though, I'll just run Tor/Vidalia.

chrome is open source.
If you dislike google tracking you, simply check the source and remove anything that offends.
Its' not some magical surveillance code which will get you if you remove it and then compile.
