I have never tried wireless keyboards or mice before, but I'm getting a new set and I'd like to know if its worth going for wireless. I'm sure I'll enjoy being able to use the set from a distance, and to have less wires to deal with, but are there major disadvantages? Do those who have tried them consider them "worth it"? And how do they typically recharge (is it simple and hassle-free?)? Thanks.

My opinion about wireless is don't get it unless you are really going to use the wireless option.
The only bad experience I have with wireless keyboard is that, it suddenly stopped working (withouth warning) because of empty batteries, which can be frustrating when you don't have batteries or a loader near you.
About that recharging, most wireless I've seen were using batteries (AA), but some mice had their own docking station which recharged them.

I see a wireless keyboard as useless. It doesn't make sense to sit far back from a screen and not have a desk to type on. I used to use a wireless mouse, though. It was nice, as it was a little smoother without the chord getting in the way. Although, replacing the batteries was a pain in the ass. Now I just use a trackball.

If you operate your computer soley at your desk, don't bother with wireless. Quality of the wireless depends on the product, in the past wireless was shit, but it's alot better now.
What you could also do is just keep your wired keyboard on your desk, buy a new wired mouse, then get a wireless keyboard with a trackball or touchpad on top, so you can operate your computer from your bed or across the room whenever you may need to.
