Okay guys, I am a 17 year old guy, and am attracted to a girl who just recently turned 14 (also, she just became a freshman in HS, and I a freshman in college). I would like to form a relationship with her, among other things. But I know how society, and more importantly the people around her and myself, feel about a relationship between someone who is 14, and anyone over 15, it seems. Another complication is that she is my neighbor, and her brother was not too long ago my best friend (has since downgraded to just friend).
I am not sure if I should continue my pursuit of her, or just let it go, and try to remain friends (which I would hate)
We weren't really friends until just recently, when we started talking everyday on myspace. She also just dumped her boyfriend, so…
Help me out anons, what shall I do??

There's nothing wrong with just being friends with her first. You don't have to jump to a relationship right away, see how she is.

and I guess having her as a friend for a while, andwaiting for her to mature a bit would be fine
it's just that i haven't been with a girl for like half a year and I wouldn't mind getting back in, even if with someone her age

i mean if it were easy enough to keep it a secret it would be okay
but i know the people around her and it wouldn't take long for me to be a weirdo to her parents or whatever
