first off, this is my first day on AT. Normally i lurk message boards between xbl sessions and work this is the first board of any kind that i have actively participated in. and btw i am 100% sure none of you care about that at all. also my thoughts are for the most part sloppy.
on to the post:
as humans we are indifferent to the phenomenon of reality we really just set it aside for engineers and physicists to work out, there are no more great thinkers if you don't believe in evolution then suddenly your religious to some degree everyone classifies themselves as having some kind of theism. we set aside entirely our own thoughts about reality and set in to the great debate of either "why are we here" or "where did we come from". we are so cocky about where "here" is or even who "we" are. This reality is perhaps many times weirder than matter and life put together. we sit and stare at particles, atoms, and everything else around us. we study the physical make up of the brain, watch how it reacts to the environment, we've come to realize that our emotions actually manifest themselves physically as different chemicals in our brains. but we still are not one step closer to knowing where our language came from where our conscious came from. theres a totally astounding amount of knowledge that we lack. its amazing what we take for granted as knowledge whether you believe that the earths been around for 10k years or 4.55 billion years we still think that we know. this little bit of matter has been spinning around in space for 4.55 billion years or maybe we have just sprung into existence this moment who are we to decide, its taken as general knowledge that were moving at a normal or slowing pace through "time". even though a lot of people will argue about the existence of time they still believe in it. we arrange our days around it, and for some reason it works seemingly exactly as we think it does. would we know if we were living in someone else's groundhog day? would we be able to tell if time stopped for 4 seconds?. —in everyday life eyewitness testimony counts for next to nothing people say they've been abducted by aliens and all sorts of other nonsense, we throw it all out the window we pay it no thought, why is this because we know just how unreliable our own minds are at processing the world around us people get the time wrong all the time they forget what day of the week it is, everyone knows how totally unreliable everyone eslse brain while having confidence in their own mental facilities… what does this have to do with reality? its showing how totally unreliable reality is. with one exception computers. computers seem to fit in with the rest of nature and the universe as well as an old drunk guy fits in with a class of 1st graders. they just dont fit together. that is just the exception though, back onto reality. reality is this swirling mass of chaos and random events all (seemingly) leading up to this one moment this one "eternity" of you sitting (or standing if your a wierdo) there and reading this very post about reality.
so here is what i want from you now that you've read my (probably) uneducated rambling, i just want you to respond pick one part or pick the whole thing respond here or send me an instant message and talk/argue/debate it with me
you can get in touch with me(if you so choose) on:
aim: da3da1
xbl: InsaniaK
btw feel free to tear it apart and tell me exactly why im wrong just keep in mind that i totally threw fact out the window for this

Rambling. Yes. hah
So on the same rambling note, lets talk about what we do know about reality. If one was to presume that 2D consciousness were the animals of our reality and 3D consciousness was unique to our species. Then the way we treat our 2D friends could be seen as how those of 4D origion would treat us.
We keep animals in pens raised to be fed upon. We kill animals for fun, we torture them but also we do care for them. Mostly we just eat them, taking the energy we need to sustain us in our 3D environment. So what of 4D entitys, time and space being no longer a restraint, they would not have a material body but would still require energy. 3D beings (us) provide a rich emotional outlet with many catalysts in place for us to react and create the necessary energy for those of a 4D existence to feed upon.

We are a species of animals. Intelligent, yea, but we are still just animals. We live, we die, we continue.
We don't live because' of a divine creator we live because' we were birthed by those that lived before us. Because' we are intelligent we have ideas of a God, a creator.
Without your body you are nothing. There is nothing more after this. You spawned on this map with one objective: continue your species. If you've failed this, well, it really doesn't matter. You're just an animal. Blah blah blah I'm not very smart and this is just the way I think, the way I view things. Sorry if you disagree.

Life is one big food chain with the taking of energy the primary source of our existence.

That's what I find to be the most fascinating thing about mathematics and physics. It's all based on one big assumption that is very likely wrong. The whole field of mathematics and physics is one big shot in the dark. The most amazing part is that it's simply theory that lets us interpret patterns and predict outcomes in the future or the past. Everyday we find something new about reality that invalidates or makes changes to our theory.
Imagine that a bunch of tribals have come across an automobile. They do not know the inner workings of the automobile, yet they can operate it. With time, they learn more and more about how the automobile works. They slowly learn the function of the pistons, the gear shift, and the exhaust. However, they will probably never gain true and total understand of the automobile, to the point where they can build one of their own.
This is how I view mathematics and physics in relation to our reality. We can slowly uncover the intricacies of reality, but we'll never ever be able to have complete understanding of it's workings. We can only form approximations and theories.

@66,237the tribals may find no need in understanding the
automobile, if they do, and the auto keeps intact a, for a car,
ridiculous long time, they could let evolve their brains, while
improving their techniques of analysing the car, that they be able to
make blueprints, and further learn to build one. evolution.
each function they uncover could help them.
maybe learn about seats and make them fit better, etc.
that is what humans do, invent mathmatics and else to use the understanding.
all is an approximation,if we cannot do better, to help us to do our things.
there is not much i find strange about reality: my sensors give me input, i use a bit logic, everything has probabilities, maybe i say "reliable", what can i do
