It is far from intimate, so if you feel a need to distance yourself from being passionate/emotional while fucking, it may be for you. Having sex in this way suggests being so rushed and needing to fuck that wasting time taking off clothes would be irritating. Or, it may suggest worriedness over exposing one's body.

It can be really hot, especially when it's done in public. If you're having sex in a car or at a club (yes I've done both, no I don't recommend the latter), having easy access while still remaining clothed is very important.
