I'm probably the least aggressive person you'll ever meet. I've never, in my life, laid a harmful finger on anybody.
I just came in from school and found my idiot dog had taken it upon himself to rip up my ICT coursework (which he had stolen from the table) and scatter the shreds all over the garden. I took three years to do that coursework by hand.
I slapped him. Hard. Then he had the nerve to follow me into the kitchen, so I kicked him. Next time he moves I'm hitting him again.
Any advice?

Just remember, your dog CAN kill you (depending on his breed etc). If hes not big enough to knock you over he can deliver an aweful bite. Good luck with annoying him.
Also, if your not known as a lier/class clown type person in school explain the situation to your teacher. And in future don't leave your coursework lying around.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, you could reconstruct the coursework. Be sure to make your dog throw up and get every last shard.

I don't blame you OP. I hate violence and getting angry but dogs annoy me heavily for some reason. Hit that dog again for good measure. And again.

Wow, tough guy. You slapped a dog and when it showed you his affection and submission, you kicked him. I bet your penis feels huge now.

I understand your rage OP, but I don't think that poor doggy knows why he is punished for.

I feel really bad now. ;_; I guess that shows what rage can do to you.
I'll go and give him a hug later. But agh, that's three years of work I have to do all over again.

kids and dogs are similar in mischief.
but you need to make them aware of why your kicking the crap out of them. so they can associate the unacceptable action to the pain that your delivering, therefore creating a nuero-association between pain and your coursework. intelligent children and animals alike learn from this. some kids don't. you win some you lose some

The dog is not responsible for your problem. It's you responsibility to make sure the dog doesn't do stuff like this. The dog doesn't know any better.

if you think you might do it again, get rid of the poor damn dog. chances are, if you do it once, you'll do it again.
TLDR: Get rid of your dog. now.

Never physically abuse your dog. It is no different than child abuse. It could lead to your dog either becoming very aggressive or overly shy and fearful.

Agreed with another poster. The dog doesn't know what it did. Don't physically abuse the dog.

Personally, my family owns 6 dogs, and we regularly smack them if they do something really stupid. Usually for pissing in the house or destroying something. We make them associate the urine spot with getting smacked, but some of them refuse to learn.

OP, your dog did that because of lack of training. Training him is your responsibility. You should kick yourself. If you gave your address out here, I'm sure someone would volunteer to do it for you.
