Topic: I have developed a strong emotional bond to my plant…

It has survived for years by just standing around in the kitchen window and getting water like once a week or something. Sometimes more seldom. It constantly drops leaves but always grows new ones! It's pretty weird and fascinating. I hope it never dies. Then I would feel sad.

I have not once given it any special "energy drink for plants" or new dirt or anything like that. Still it keeps surviving. Is this normal… um… behaviour for a plant? Talk about flower power!

I'm surprised it's lasted this long, especially since you've never changed the soil. What kind of plant is it?

I really have no idea what kind of plant it is, but it's not a cactus!

I've got a small palm plant that's been around for 2 years now. It doesn't require new dirt because the substrate seems to be glued pebbles or something. I only water it like once a month. It sits in a windowless bathroom with light only coming from a ceiling light tube. When I first got it, it had one stalk. Throughout the first year, it tried growing a second stalk, but that didn't turn out too well. The second stalk ended up dead before it could even unfurl its leaves. Throughout the second year, it tried growing a new stalk again. This time, I noticed it and took better care of the plant to make sure it would grow its new stalk. Now, it still has both stalks, but it hasn't tried growing a third one yet.

That's what I did immediately after reading that. I did some research on my plant (it's some sort of miniature cycad, not a real palm). Because of it's limited sun exposure, it's basically in a dormant mode. It won't grow, but it will basically just "sleep."

Thats pretty amazing
No wonder people are so attached to their plants
I have a little pot plant, I don't know what it is…but im deeply in love with it
I cant explain it. Anyway, once I jacked off onto the plant…I kind of feel this strong connection between me and the plant
I know this will sound silly, but I honestly cant explain what im feeling
