(Flat = apartment for Americans.)

I don't know what counts as "loud noises". Is this it? I often shower at very "odd" hours. Nobody has complained, but in my country, nobody ever does… directly. Everyone is afraid of human contact here. At least the native population.

I've lived in a flat where my neighbors would complain if I went to the toilet during the night. Good thing I now live in an office building. I can blast my stereo though the night and no one cares.

i.e. it depends on where you live

I'd personally tell the good people which anatomical location would best accommodate their complaint, and offer them some lubricant and a shoe horn to facilitate its relocation.

I would think it was rude if someone complained about you showering no matter the time.

I did tell them to go fuck themselves. I take a dump as often as I want. I have no problem living with people that hate me unlike most other people
