He made a lot of very good songs in the 1960s, and then waited for 40+ years until he made the next one (the one about catching Osama bin Laden), with basically the same voice? That I call impressive.

Why did he not produce any music for so long? Or maybe I am confused?

Johnny Rebel is a pseudonym. It was a nickname for a confederate soldier, like "Charlie" for vietnamese soldiers.

what I meant was, that there have been several people releasing songs under that name.
