I need to buy a new toothbrush and I want to know if its worth getting electric. I'll get one if they're actually better. Sources or links to back up your points will be appreciated…

They both effectively clean your teeth (duh), but it's just a matter of your preference. If you like to be lazy, go for electric, if auto is not a big thing, just use manual.

Electric, all the way, all the time.
One of the first things you'll notice is that your gums don't bleed every time you brush. Then, you'll see how much easier ti is. Plus, it gives a better clean in general.

If you go with electric, use the Sonicare system. It seems to work better than other electric toothbrushes that just oscillate back and forth or rotate. The Sonicare system basically vibrates at an extremely high frequency.

Just looked it up on ebay. Far too fucking expensive.

Well, fine, you can get a basic electric toothbrush that does jack shit. Have you ever seen basic electric toothbrushes? There's no point to them, you're probably better off with traditional toothbrushes. The basic ones just go back and forth or spin around or some weak shit like that. It confers no benefits to your teeth cleaning experience. The Sonicare actually does something. You can feel that fucker scouring the crap off your teeth. It vibrates so unbelievably fast that I don't even need to floss anymore. It just knocks that shit out from between my teeth. So, if you want a basic electric toothbrush, go for it. You'll get some "spin in a slow circle" or "wank your teeth off" shit. Those things you can already do with your hand.

Most electric toothbrushes are crap. If you're going to spend money, then you should get a Sonicare. They work well, and are probably the only brushes that actually make a difference.

Personally, I'd go with buying the 150 dollar toothbrush and not the hundreds of dollars for cavities etc.

But that's just me.
