Topic: Can cats, dogs and other animals feel "shame"/embarrassment?

Like… if a pet's owner makes the animal wear something silly and then goes for a walk… will the animal feel stupid to other animals or even humans?

If this is the case, how do we know this? I don't even understand how we can know that dogs and cats see in black and white…

If your animal is ashamed, you will know. Dogs whine and prostrate themselves, cats will go sulk in a corner. Its probably more of an emotional thing than intellectual thing with them.

for the color issue, it is because if you look at the eye it is missing the structure that takes in color

Yes dogs, at least, I know do feel shame, cats probably do as well. They don't see colors because they don't have cones, which detect color, just rods which detect light to dark. Also dogs recognize voices and know who they belong to, for both humans and other dogs. With wild dogs and wolves, sometimes a member of the pack will be ostracized to the point of depression, which can lead to "suicide" (not literally killing themselves, but just moping/not eating until death).

I don't know, but i think he was a little pissed/embarrased at me laughing o.o?
