I assume that vinyl records have better quality, but I could be horribly wrong.
Both are created professionally; I am not talking about a tape that has recorded the vinyl record via consumer equipment, which obviously cannot be better than the vinyl…

vinyl is the best sounding media. period. but only when its new. compare a new record to one that has been played 30 or 40 times, you can definitely hear the difference.

@68,797> 30 or 40 timesThat's not very many times…

Tape has a horrible bandwidth, the vinyl is better. The vinyl has a characteristic sound but it doesn't sound as 'correct' as a digital recording.

@68,875So true. I have never met a pro-vinyl audiophile who had any education in physics. If you want that "vinyl sound", just play a CD while crumpling up a piece of dry paper in one of your fists.
As far as vinyl vs. tapes — that's a legitimate question. However, it's like arguing about whether you'd rather suck a dick or take it in the ass — there's a much better alternative available.
