The worst part is that they aren't usually even used for a real Web site! And when they are, they often seem off-topic, such as a great name being used for somebody's fucking blog!
This is insanely frustrating and has probably held back countless projects that could've become extremely good. I personally have lost interest many times after finding that all my .com ideas for the project were being occupied by a fucking GoDaddy placeholder…

Would be nice if the rules of the internet were changed. Like booting someone off a name if they get only incidental traffic and the site never changes(IE placeholders,namesquating). Turn it into a "use it or lose it" system. Imagine how many .com's would be freed for use by those who would actually use them.
