Topic: My Photoshop trial is over. What do I do now?

Anonymous 46cb7c20a5def88c5115e7a3fd9a3088 started this discussion 2 months (2008-10-12 05:14:58 UTC) ago:

GIMP and Paint.NET are shit, basically. I don't pirate software and I really cannot afford Adobe's insanely expensive products.

I don't even use any advanced features of Photoshop — it's just that its UI is very polished and "makes sense" in many ways (although it's far from perfect). The "clones" don't even come close…

I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? (I run Windows XP.)

Ok non-pirate, you just listed the other two options you could use and dismissed them, so the only thing I can think of you doing is to locate the registry keys, delete em, and enjoy your trial again… No… You could borrow a friend's key… No, you could get a keyge… Well, you've sucessfully ruled out all your options, besides using MSPaint or some other basic graphic editing. Good luck.

Obviously, you can do any of these things:

1) Actually buy the software.
2) Pirate/Crack it like any other red-blooded Internetter.
3) Get into the system registries and hack the "timed" part of the software out, which still equates to pirating.
4) Use a different Image editing program.

Despite these choices being against your wishes and morals (you don't have the money to buy it, you aren't a pirate, and you don't like the other programs), these are your only choices OP.

Thank you for a completely worthless reply.

What the fuck? Paint.NET doesn't even have a crop tool?! I've looked in all the menus now without finding such a feature. It's the most basic fucking thing in any "advanced" graphics editor, dammit!

And GIMP was completely useless still… (Just installed both to try them out once more.)

He might have been replying to the topic before my reply was posted and didn't see it. Think before you snipe.

GIMP is the most popular Photoshop clone for a reason, because it is as close as you are going to get. If you are not willing to buy/pirate Adobe, then GIMP is the best you will find, that's the reality of the situation. Anontalk can't make miracles happen.

Has nothing to do with it.

Well fuck you, you goddamn prick. Welcome to the reality with trial software that costs money after the bullshit 30 day period. Enjoy being too cheap/poor and not having a slight desire niggling on the back of your head to at least pirate it or hack it because Adobe has more than enough money for themselves to survive.

Go fuck yourself.

Amen.

OP, don't dismiss every option there is in your original post and still expect help, then insult people when they point this out. You're a fucking ingrate.

Buy it, pirate it or use an alternative, they're the three and ONLY three options you've got. If you don't want to do any of those then fuck off and uninstall it forever.

GIMP is in fact excellent. At my print shop we have never purchased a copy of Photoshop and we will not until Adobe can justify their overpriced package.

Corel Paint Shop Pro is pretty similar to Photoshop and costs about $100.

So, OP, did you find any programs that met your photo editing needs completely?
