Topic: Tor works very slowly for me. Any advice on how to speed it up?

I use Tor with Firefox and the Torbutton attachment. I was wondering if there were any settings that I could adjust, whether within Tor or Firefox, that would make Tor faster and more responsive. I ask because it seems to me that Tor is a goldmine for finding you know what, but the ultra-slow load times leave me impatient and frustrated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sure, just set up some dedicated tor nodes and help everybody.

There is really no way to "speed it up", without contributing to the network… As another poster pointed out. You could try hitting "Use a new identity" a couple of times, that sometimes helps. Usually I will load up a bunch of pages (open a load of tabs) and go make myself a pot of tea or something until it's all loaded.

If you run a relay, you will get better speeds, and it will also help the Tor network. All you need is at least 20 kilobytes/s each way (of course, more is better).
