Topic: What would be the consequences of lying to a car insurance company about having a criminal record?

I used "GoCompare.com" to find car insurance prices. First, I filled it out truthfully and unbelievably three quarters of the companies refused to give me a quote — as I have a criminal record. So, I tried again and claimed that I don't have a criminal record.
I can save >£300 by lying to the insurance company. What would be the consequences (if any) of doing this? I live in England. Don't post your own assumptions or off-topic remarks/other retarded shit, please.

If you lie about anything on an insurance form and they find out your insurance company can refuse to payout if you have an accident. It is unlikely they will sue, unless you get money out of them before they find out, then they might.

Also think about it if they ask about a criminal record they most likely will check anyway no matter what answer is given

Insurance companies don't tend to care much about applying (always happy to take money from you), but they check every claim with a fine-toothed comb. If they find out you lied then, they won't pay you a cent, and cancel your policy.

I have had two really good cars written off by people who are driving without insurance, you little shit.
Because that is what you are doing if you lie to the insurance company, which they are certain to discover if you ever put in a claim.
Judging from the fact you are willing to try to bilk a company out of less than seven quid a week which would enable you to travel safely and to keep others safe, you should not be allowed to own a car in the first place.
Buy a bicycle instead.
