Happy 4th of July… Although, it is just another dumb excuse for those American imbeciles to fire their guns in the air and light explosives.
What do you think about it?
Poll: People who play video games: Do you wonder why the hell you are playing games since you just want them to end anyway?

You jumped the gun (ha, ha!). It is still July 3rd in the USA. Wait till tomorrow, then, you will see…

"Independence Day" my ass, the USA is dependent on every other country in the world to supply it and keep it going.

@previous> the USA is dependent on every other country in the world to supply it and keep it going.I don't have too much "worldly" knowledge, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that true about a lot of countries really?
Anonymous E joined in and replied with this 9 months (2009-07-04 04:29:?? UTC) ago, 15 minutes later, 1 hour past creation (#172,678):
It used to mean something. It used to have a special place in my heart. Now that the country is being usurped by criminals and minorities with an agenda, homosexuals and sluts are running wild, the country is decaying, etc. it doesn't mean much to me anymore and I won't be celebrating it. America is done.

Yay. Another, "It's cool to hate the people of the United States and you'll be cool if you do it too," thread. e_e

@172,678> Our earth is degenerate in these latter days. There are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end. Bribery and corruption are common. Children no longer obey their parents. Every man wants to write a book, and the end of the world is evidently approaching.~Assyrian tablet, 2800 BCE
What you have to say is not original in the least, and is just as inane and insipid as it was 4800 years ago.
@172,652The celebration is about giving a big "fuck you!" to England, otherwise known as the Declaration of Independence. Although it's a distinctly American holiday, everybody is free to celebrate in spirit (even self-loathing English)!

By the time I finish writing this it will be 12:00; the start of the 4th of July.
It would be a reason to celebrate, but I've grown to hate my countries leaders so much that I never celebrate it. Perhaps with Obama in the White House I might celebrate again…

@172,686When did I say the world was ending? I said my country was decaying, and it is. Many countries and civilizations have decayed throughout history. How is it inane to think so? Because you think accepting people who are attracted to trees and children and an orifice that secretes feces is "progress"? Learn how to argue and stay on subject.

@previousAnalogy and abstraction are simply beyond your 2 neurons. I hope one day we can have an Independence Day from idiots… Now
that will be
real freedom.

@172,696You don't celebrate 4th of July because of your leaders? Independence day celebrates what America one was, not what it currently is.
Even saying that, I don't celebrate it myself. I don't see the point.
Celebrate.

@172,671Yes, but as far as I know, no other nation celebrates an "Independance Day", making it rather stupid.
I'm not American, but happy 4th of July to anyone who is or lives there. Have fun celebrating your odd and contradictive holiday.

I'm glad I'm an American, and I'm happy to celebrate Independence Day, as the day the world's most amazing nation was born. It may not be the same as it was, its leaders may be idiots and its laws insane, and there may be many crazy people who live here and make a lot of noise, yet I still am proud to call myself an American. God bless America!

@172,947> Yes, but as far as I know, no other nation celebrates an "Independance Day", making it rather stupid.A lot of countries celebrate it, e.g. countries that once were part of the Soviet Russia.

@previousOK, my apologies. Still, in my experience, the celebrations of other nations are not on the same scale as America's.
Anonymous L replied with this 9 months (2009-07-04 14:41:?? UTC) ago, 7 minutes later, 12 hours past creation (#172,959):
@previousThat is because those nations are not in any way on the same scale as the US.
Anonymous A (OP) replied with this 9 months (2009-07-04 15:14:?? UTC) ago, 32 minutes later, 12 hours past creation (#172,976):
@previousThat's no excuse. Britain has to import all of its food to survive because it is an over populated, tiny island. America — on the other hand, is huge and probably could feed itself theoretically with the amount of land it has. (Or if not entirely, more than it does.)

Hopefullyy we will have an Independence day to celebrate too soon.

@172,976What are you talking about? America feeds itself and much of the rest of the world too. Almost all the food we consume in America comes from America, and we export a
lot of food.
@previousThank you! And here's wishing you the best on that!

@previousWithout hope we have nothing.
I am not counting on anything, I am helping to work toward independence.
But I am not holding my breath.

@172,981Englishman here, I also hope this, so you damn Jocks will just stop whining about how you're hard done by, with your free prescriptions and subsidised university.
Seriously, you're worse than the damn Welsh.

@previousSo you are jealous of what we have and you don't. That is understandable.
Next time vote in a party that can run your country as successfully as the SNP is running ours.
Oh sorry I forgot. You haven't got one.

For fuck sake, as much as I hate Yankees, it's their celebration of freedom from the British.
Let them celebrate, it's not like they're going to bomb the fuck outta the world every 4th of July.
Also, happy 4th lads, from Ireland.
