Topic: Use Zune (firmware 3.1) on Ubuntu Linux?

Hi, I have a Zune, firmware 3.1. I am trying to take some content off of the device while using Linux. I can not find any way to mount the device. Dualbooting or using a Virtual Machine is not an option for me. If someone could tell me how to load it in Ubuntu so I may take a few videos I have on it off the device, I would be happy. Thanks.

Let me guess - you bought the Zune to be different from all the Ipod sheep. And you use Linux to be different from all the Windows sheep?

@previousNo…I got the Zune for free, and I did use Windows at one point: Linux is just a lot better.

Not very elegant, but you can run Windows in a virtual machine for syncing purposes.

@previousAre you retarded? I specifically said using a VM or dualbooting was not an option.

It can't be done. The Zune uses a proprietary, DRM-ridden filesystem which is not currently usable by any non-Microsoft software.
