Topic: Why do people submit to malefacting governments?

Why are they content to believe all they are told, and to accept a power hungry, EVIL entity to sit over them?
It is something that baffles me, and I work as much as I can, as is in my power for the revolutionary cause, for true equality and liberty.

Hypocrites are they who believe that *this* is a democracy.

Most people who vote don't do it for causes. They vote for candidates with nice faces, name recognition, special candidates like the first black president or the first woman, candidates who offering them something material, for example welfare and other social benefits. They don't even understand the simple principle that nothing is for free. They are not interested in substance, all they need are catch phrases like "Yes, we can." an "Change".

But I'm delighted to see people like Ron Paul, who actually (whether you agree with it or not) have substance in their message. Here in Germany, we don't even have a debate anymore. Its all superficial. Like a simulation of the real thing. The powers that be, will stay where they are, doesn't matter what puppet the sheeple are voting for.

I have never followed too closely 'politics' so I can't profess to know much about ron paul or his policies, as I have long been disillusioned with society at large, but from what I have seen of hillary and obama I can safely say that they are empty figureheads, and having briefly looked over ron paul's policies I can say that he at least holds definite IDEAS about what he would do were he elected president and seems very much to be his own man, though I can't say that I agree with ALL his policies, though I do support his belief in non-intervbntion overseas having first hand suffered at the hands of American troops seeing my city being torn to pieces with bombs in the 1990's.

However, democracy this is not, whatever it is, for the people are given NO say outside of a *mostly meaningless* vote. To those who say numbers pose a problem, I say form regional 'senates' at which people would gather and express their opinions and beliefs, and then every month or so cycle the head of these senates to report and participate in meetings at a national level, or something along those lines might be thought of.

I have considered in turn an internationalist communism (we have not seen an example of working communism as yet), and individualism, and being apolitical, and simply enjoying life, though I tend to be both in half-degrees at the one time, which is rather hypocritical of me! :D

In ny case what I do know is that the world as it is is NOT in a satisfactory state, and that I must do *something*, though I may not be as yet quite sure what.
