Topic: When are kids gonna stop calling Windows Live Messenger "MSN"?

Anonymous 47ae211000a6a8.34833955 started this discussion 1 month (2008-05-22 09:48:40 UTC) ago:

Not even when it was actually called "MSN Messenger", "MSN" would have made sense. "MSNM" if anything. Or "MIM" (Microsoft Instant Messenger) if you're gonna follow YIM (Yahoo! …) and AIM (AOL …), but that's also stupid.

When are kids gonna start wondering why a program that never says "MSN" anywhere is frequently referred to as "MSN" by their retarded friends? Don't they ever wonder about this? Does anyone say "WLM" which would be the most logical acronym?

So what if "everyone" knows what you mean by "MSN" when it's horribly inaccurate and soon there will be only kids introduced to Windows Live Messenger and never getting exposed to the old program's name?

This pisses me off.

because it's known as 'MSN'
it doesn't matter if it makes sense or not.

you're still a moron..

WLM = 5 syllables
MSN = 3 syllables

It takes time for the name to change, be patient. Eventually, we may begin to call it WLM, but for now, just be happy that it HAS an acronym at all, rather than having to type "windows live messenger" all the time.

So basically, your "argument" for calling a program that is named "Windows Live Messenger" "MSN" for no good reason is: "fuck you lol i do wat i want"? Retards.
