I am seriously considering selling my Xbox 360 and buying a chipped PlayStation (yes… the original one) and start burning games for it to play all those games I read reviews of as a kid but never had the money to buy. I seriously feel that those games probably are more fun and interesting than the utter shit that is available for any of the current generation of consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, etc.).
I feel nothing for new games. They're all dull as fuck. No joy at all. Completely without any sort of soul and they all look exactly the same.
Then again, I would like original games and not warez… Who trades PlayStation/Saturn warez these days?

Tekken on PS1 is still fun. I'd recommend getting an N64 while you're at it, though.

SNES > *
(a ps1 and snes would keep me entertained for AGES)

@19,126I actually have both a PlayStation and a Nintendo 64. However, the laser on the PlayStation goes bad pretty quickly (or so I've heard), so I thought I'd buy a whole new, chipped one.

Nintendo Ds with the homebrew sticks for playing pokemon blue.
snes with MARIOCART BITCHES.
Nes with DUCKHUNT BITCHES.
ps1 games work on a ps2, so just go for the chipped ps2.. you'll want to keep a ps1 memory stick for them though.
N64 isnt too bad, the old Sega had a few classics, but those Same classics you can get in bargain bins for the computer (Or atleast used to be able to)
The original xbox is a pretty steady system, its got plenty of nice games for it.
Gamecube I only have for Super smash bros Melee. (its worth it, as a gamecube is like 30 bucks used.)
the dreamcast was Disgusting though, never get one.

Before you start spending money on old systems you should look into emulation. There are already emulators for almost every old console you can think of, including PS1. No need to spend money on something you can get for free.

@19,172The Dreamcast was very good in it's day, but is pretty useless in hindsight. All of it's games worth playing were later ported onto ps2 or gamecube.

I use to want an N64 + Playstation + SNES + amiga but then reality hit and i had no money. Use your PC and a control pad. Grab and old TV and its just like the real thing only costs next to nothing.
