No, it's My Magic Dog, a movie that I saw at school when I was a kid.
It's about a dog that was killed (by some guys sent by an evil woman) and it helps a kid to capture her because she wants to separate the kid from his father, they succeed and then the dog really dies like "well now you are on your own kid, I helped you, I hope you grow well and stuff, now i must go" and everyone was crying, as far as I can remember.

My ghost dog has nothing to do with it (just by looking at the movie poster)

I want to download the movie, i think it would be very unlikely that imdb has that movie available for download… right?
