I realize now that I don't know. (I mean in general and historically.)

Don't really have anything against France.
Some of the older French still hate us for WW2 though.

France considers itself superior to Germany, since after all, they are superior to every other country in Europe. Germany's a fairly young country compared to France, and it's caused a lot of trouble in it's youth (two world wars), so I would expect France to look down upon Germany. Hell, they haven't even been whole country for 30 years (east Germany/west Germany)…
It's just a matter of time before they try and take over Europe again now that they're united.

Wtf are you talking about? Germany trying to take over Europe?
"Now that they're united" ? Yeah for 19 years now… just recently… -_-"
Germany conquered Europe, France conquered Europe, Rome conquered Europe, what's the difference (except that Germany didn't stand long ;) )?
Germany was just the last nation who did it and that's why we are the bad guys. :)

@30,28619 years is pretty recent in the history of cilivization. You're forgetting that France and Rome have agreed not to invade Europe again (Besides: France is too obsessed with itself, and Rome is too small). Based on the facts that Germany is on the east side of the Atlantic, they have beer, and that they're Germany, I think it's fair to assume they're already plotting to do it again and that we need to take some sort of pre-emptive strike against them. I would assume that we might even be too late. The Germans are already trying to win the world's favor with their "Shamwows". Once they destroy the paper towel businesses the world will again be at the mercy of Germany!

@30,293Yeah… sure…
Germany is more likely to self-destruct then to conquer Europe. ;)

@30,697Shamwow is a name brand towel being sold on infomercials in America. One of the "selling points" is that "it's made in Germany, so you know it's good - the germans always make great stuff".

I'm an American.
I love Germans. They have a cool-sounding language, have a tendency to be good Engineers, produce some attractive women and have a noble history that reaches back to the dawn of civilization.
I love the French. Their language sounds pretty nice as well and I appreciate that they have a council of individuals that try and keep things like Ebonics from becoming popular. They've got a lock on culture, art and cuisine. Everyone always makes the French out to be 'snooty,' but I think they're really just confident. I also love how the French love to contradict the EU, they're such rebels. I like French noses too.
That is all.

Great languages, too.

France aren't rebels at all. Infact the EU is built around the french and supporting their agricultural industry. The real EU rebels are the British because they are the 2nd biggest economy but dont want to be part of it. As for france and germany liking each other, the younger internet generation are fine with each other. The idea of them hating each other is mainly a WW2 stereotype just like the british having bad teeth and the french not washing. It's mostly false nowadays.
