I refuse to believe that it's so fucking hard. Just lay with a sniper rifle from a distance and fire at him while he's giving a speech. It's technically not difficult at all. Even a 12-year-old orphan could do it (guess the reference).
So why hasn't anyone murdered this very much hated president yet? AFAIK, it has not even been seriously attempted. It makes no sense to me.

Does he only make speeches inside? (I'm not American) i guess it would be too hard to get a gun inside the building.

The problem is that the security is just that good. With most agents, if you've even seen them then they have failed their job. The democratic party held presidential debates at my college campus, so I walked around with the sheath to my sword with a fake blade inside, just to see what would happen. I then proceeded to look for ways to the rooftops of nearby buildings that I could normally access. I never saw any security any where near me when all of a sudden I was tapped on the shoulder. I turned to look and a guard was right behind my and said "hey dude, that looks cool, is it real?" I explained to him the blade was cardboard and made up some reason why I had it. I was then instructed to be careful because something that looks so real might get me in trouble on a day like today, move along. Its around this time that it dawns on you that all those reporters and news trucks reporting on the event aren't all from news channels they claim to be from. And then you realize that the guard you just spoke to has disappeared into the crowd and you have no idea where he went. Mind you, this was security for people who weren't even nominees for president yet. I can't imagine what would have happened if it was one of Bush's speeches.
I have determined that the best way to covertly get assassinate Bush would be with a homemade missile, or even better, artillery shell. Something that can be lobbed into the sky from several blocks away, with enough explosive material (preferably symtex) to take out at least one building so that the debris would increase you're chance of hitting the target. Of course it is easy enough to figure out where this was launched from, so I don't think you'll be getting away regardless of your escape plan if the agents are competent.
On a side not, I just watched the movie Vantage Point for the first time last night. Awesome movie about this very topic, though very unrealistic.

Uh guys, We do all know that threatening the Pres of the U.S. even in jest and even if he's low in the opinion polls is super illegal and most definitely NOT covered by the first amendment? Asking why it isn't happening and discussing methodologies on how it could be done could be construed as incitement by the law. I sure do hope that OP and the poster just above me don't live within the borders of the United States. For partyvan always has room for one more. SysOP might just wanna yank this topic if only to keep from bringing unwanted attention onto the board.
Besides What kind of a Fucktard would want to kill G.W. Bush now that his term is 5 months away from ending Nothing would change and Dick Cheney would be president. Way to think it through retards.

I'm happy Americans had to experience him, and I hope they have learned to vote for an open minded president, and not those cowboys. But it's all about if the US really is a functional democracy, which I have some doubt about, the power balance is totally fucked up, the richest are the most powerful and the richest support the president to get nice tax cuts and other inside benefits, this way the president is always backed with money and power and keeps the common people from gaining power.

Bush being assasinated now would pretty much guarantee further rule by others like him (Republican sympathy votes) and would probably just make things worse.

And why didn't somebody do it earlier? Like… soon after he got another term?

if it was that easy the the average term of office would be around 2 weeks for an american president. no matter who it is or how popular they are quite a few people will try to kill them.

The fact that you're even holding a discussion about this shows that you're blind. It'd be no use in killing him beause he's just a puppet in the hands of the men who're truly ruling this world, like EVERY politician is!!! Politicians are just a decoy for the masses. Something they can relate to, something they can see, hear and comment on like you're all doing right now… But in reality they're all just replaceable cardboard. They're all paid to play their role and shut up, and if they refuse, they'll get whacked like John F. Kennedy…

@30,793The mark of the delusional is the belief that somehow he has escaped the "system" and risen above the masses. Usually this occurs when someone who despises himself see the qualities he hates in others and then tries to rationalize his hatred for others cobbling together a justification for why he is different (better) than they are. He then secludes himself from the general public and is left to his own thoughts, which begin to fester into dreams of grandeur. He will then reach out to strangers and try to gain disciples for himself or become a disciple to someone he idolizes for having similar views. This is how cult leaders and revolutionaries are born.
