http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magical_negroMovies and TV series later seemed/seem to feature an old "Indian" (native American), Mexican or Asian man helping the white main character, instead of a nigger, as it used to be. They usually "know this spiritual stuff". Just something that I've noticed and find interesting. Nobody seems to be upset about this?

Negroes no longer possess any "mystical" qualities, and can't fill this role. American Negroes have destroyed their heritage, and invented one of fatherlessness, misogyny, no value for education, and violence instead. Try as they might, movie-makers can't believably use the "magical negro" character anymore. Instead of the "magical negro" we just have the "token black", which is usually a stereotypical nigger, although usually much less violent. This is not to say that there aren't believable roles for non-stereotypical niggers, just that the white majority doesn't want to see blacks in any other way. For some reason, the very thought that blacks have the potential to be just as intelligent and successful as most whites just sends shivers down the spines of most people.

The magical negro has always been one of many token minority characters. It isn't really about the mystical properties, just an "otherness" that emphasizes the contrast between him and the hero. The latest appearance of the archetype (that I can think of) is Morgan Freeman in Batman Begins. I've never really seen a latino in this type of role, but Asians and Indians have always had roles like this.

@30,573That's not true. There are generations of juju men and black voodoo worship in America. They just don't need to threaten your White ass with it no more because they can't get lynched for beating you down.

The most hilarious and blatant recent example of this is Shaq in the movie Kazaam.

@30,573Have you heard of Morgan Freeman? He still has a very successful career playing the magical negro. Liberalism is class warfare like communism. And they define white males as the highest class that must be fought against. That's why white males in the media are usually portrayed as an idiot that can't can anything done without the help of some magical negro. Watch for it in commercials especially. The white male will be stupid and wrong and incompetant and the negro will be smart and right about everything and competant, just the opposite of real life, where negros are mostly just hired because it's the law that they be given a certain amount of the jobs whether they can do them or not.

@30,628Propaganda used as a counter to propaganda, hilarious.
Morgan Freeman in the movie Bruce Almighty does fit the description of magical negro pretty well, but the white man in that movie wasn't portrayed as incompetent. Samuel L. Jackson often plays the role of the token black guy in movies, but in Star Wars none of the white Jedi were incompetent (aside from the one who had to become a fallen hero). In Jurassic park he played the chief of security, but none of the white character's were incompetent except for the fat bastard bad guy. In Pulp fiction John Travolta and Bruce Willis were portrayed as superior gangstas to him.
Speaking of Bruce Willis, in the Fifth Element it was the black guy who was an incompetent whiny bitch. In Sixteen Blocks he is protecting Mos Def all the time. In Unbreakable it is clear that he is the good guy while the bad guy is black. Although I'm sure Bruce Willis is completely invalidated just because he was the executive producer of a documentary called The Hip Hop Project.

Good job coming up with some counter examples. But what I said is still true as a general trend. Having the white person be wrong or stupid, is politically correct and avoids most controversy since whites rarely complain as a group, unlike minorities.
I was especially reffering to commercials, some examples of which are here:

@30,678not incompetent? He was played by Jim Carey! The man has played an unbelievable imbecile his entire career, save, what, one film?
But that's neither here nor there, the other guy's point holds. The new political propaganda role for the black man is in positions where you will find almost without exception ( in the real world ) a White, Asian or Jew, most commonly the 'tech' or 'IT' guy, of which you will be hard pressed to find a Negro capable of filling the role in real life.

The reason it's turning into a Mexican or, more frequently, an Asian man, is because even the movie industry is starting to realize that niggers look like cave men and nobody wants to look at them.
