High resolution computer screens. Japanese characters aren't exactly simple and easily drawn with just a few pixels like the Latin ones…

Oh, you mean alphanumerics. I thought "characters" and "drawing" referred to cartoons and anime or something. To put it simply, it isn't that difficult to do and you don't need high resolution. You and I might get a little confused when trying tell kanji apart while it is in low resolution, but someone who grew up with it wouldn't have much trouble.

100% impossible to make in low-res.

Those are highly detailed examples of calligraphy. Very impressive. But on computers the fonts get really simplified of course. Then again, I could be completely wrong, I'm no expert. In fact I've only seen a few examples, mostly in electronic stores many years ago.

by loading japanese fonts. most modern fonts are vectors and will render at any size
